Community Projects is an open stream that encompasses a broad range of projects that benefit Japanese Canadians or cultural activities that promote Japanese or Japanese Canadian culture in Canada. Projects that could be considered for funding include intergenerational wellness gatherings, seniors group wellness projects, sports teams, arts collaborations, and heritage projects. Eligible project costs may include: labour costs including research, project management, and interpretative planning, travel, accommodation, honoraria, contractor fees, materials, and project supplies.

In Community Fund 2, a Legacy Projects category was added with funding up to $500,000 per project.

Japanese Canadian Legacies are initiatives that honour our elders past and present. We are grateful to be doing this work on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish peoples.
