Sports Intake 2 Recipients

The Japanese Canadian Legacies Society thanks the many Japanese Canadian Descendants, both athletes and coaches, who applied to the second and final intake of Sports. Congratulations to the 48 successful applicants listed below. Together with the funding recipients from Intake 1, we have funded 80 individuals across a wide range of sports disciplines. We look forward to following their achievements as their careers in athletics move forward.

“I would like to express my appreciation and sincere gratitude for selecting me as a recipient of this grant. This support will contribute greatly to my development in track and field! It is a great honour to receive this grant and I am looking forward to the opportunities it will provide. I am committed to making the most of this opportunity and achieving my goals of having a high level of success in pole vault as well as being a role model and a leader to young Japanese Canadian children! Thank you for believing in me and supporting me in this journey!”

Japanese Canadian Legacies are initiatives that honour our elders past and present. We are grateful to be doing this work on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish peoples.
