Intergenerational Wellness Intake 1 Recipients
Thank you to the families, groups and organizations from across the country who applied in this important stream. We were moved by the many project applications that spoke to the need for intergenerational healing, collaboration, and dialogue. It is clear that the desire to connect across generations remains strong.
We owe deep thanks to the Assessment Team who juried the applications, ensuring that the original purpose of this stream was kept front and centre. The team was made up of Nicola Koyanagi, Alex Miki, Jan Nobuto, Carley Okamura, and John Endo Greenaway.
Thanks also to the Intergenerational Wellness advisory team made up of Lucy Komori, Nicola Koyanagi, Jess Masuda, Carley Okamura, and Leanne Toshiko Simpson. The team was diligent and thoughtful in helping refine and sharpen the draft guidelines.
Thank you for all your encouragement and practical guidance throughout this process. We were thrilled to hear that our application was successful. This is a labour of love that we have already started. The existence of the fund was a great spark to things we had long thought of doing. Now we had focus, momentum and intention. Regardless of the funding decision, we had become committed to our goals of addressing long-standing wounds and silences and conversations not tried. We also became dedicated to the task of documenting our elder’s first-hand stories and final words to her heirs. Through the granting process, our individual hopes also got linked to a vaster community of similarly placed souls and to loftier goals. So thank you for believing in us and giving us a hand. Your personal involvement meant so much when we had doubts.
